Working With You
You work directly with Bec Lee from the first conversation to launch day and beyond. There are no account managers, no junior designers and no handoffs. Every website is designed, built and launched by Bec personally. This means you always have a direct line to the person who knows your website inside out.
All work is carried out remotely, so your location is no barrier at all. Bec works with clients across the UK and Europe entirely online, using video calls, email and shared staging environments. If you are local to Wilmslow, Manchester or the wider Cheshire area, face-to-face meetings can be arranged.
The initial consultation is a relaxed conversation, there is nothing you need to prepare formally. It helps to have a rough idea of what you want the website to achieve, which businesses or websites you admire, and whether you have existing branding, content or images. Do not worry if you have none of those things. Many clients start from scratch and we guide you through everything.
The number of revision rounds is confirmed in the proposal and depends on the scope of your project. Revisions are carried out before the website goes live on our staging environment, where you can review everything in real time and provide feedback. We work collaboratively to make sure the design is exactly right before launch.
Yes. Once your project is paid in full, the website is entirely yours. You own the design, the content and the code.
Post-launch changes are available as ad-hoc work at our hourly rate (minimum one hour). For clients who want ongoing support, updates and security management, our annual Website Management Plan covers all of this and more.
You are welcome to provide your own copy and images, and many clients do. If you need support, we can coordinate with copywriters, photographers, videographers and other creatives as part of the project. We will advise on what content is needed and guide you through the process so nothing gets missed.
Getting started is easy! Simply reach out to us through our contact form or by calling our office on 07967 730 111 or email bec@brightwebsitedesign.co.uk. We’ll schedule a consultation to discuss your project goals and provide you with a detailed proposal.

Yes. We have extensive experience designing and building e-commerce websites using WooCommerce, the most widely used e-commerce platform for WordPress. Whether you need a fully custom online store built from scratch or e-commerce functionality added to an existing website, we can help.
We handle everything from product pages, categories and filtering to shipping configuration, tax settings and inventory management. We set up the ecommerce website up with your preferred payment gateway to provide a smooth, secure checkout experience for your customers and is straightforward to manage on the backend.

Yes. Our Website Management Plan is designed to keep your WordPress website secure, up to date and performing at its best, so you never have to worry about it.
The plan covers regular WordPress core updates, theme updates, plugin updates, security scanning, malware detection and cleanup, automated backups, and the ability to fully restore your website if anything goes wrong. Updates are tested on a staging environment before being applied to your live site, so there is no risk of something breaking unexpectedly.
We also monitor uptime and performance continuously, so if anything goes wrong, we know about it quickly.
The management plan is strongly recommended for all WordPress websites. Outdated plugins and themes are one of the most common causes of website security breaches, and having someone handle this for you means you can focus on running your business rather than worrying about your website.
If you need occasional help outside of the plan, ad-hoc work is available at an hourly rate.

Bespoke v Starter
A bespoke website is designed and built entirely from scratch – every layout, colour, font and element is created specifically for your brand with no templates used. A starter website uses a professionally designed template that is customised with your branding, colours, images and content. Starter websites are faster to deliver and lower in cost, making them a good option for businesses with limited budgets or those wanting to establish an online presence quickly. Bespoke design is our primary and preferred service.
For bespoke website projects, every design is created from scratch, no templates, no recycled layouts, no off-the-shelf designs. Your website will be unique to your business. Starter websites use templates from a curated library, customised with your branding. The type of build is always agreed and confirmed in your proposal before any work begins.
Our Starter Website Package starts from £795 + VAT and is delivered within 14 working days. It includes a four-page website, a legal page, contact form, social media integration, mobile-responsive design, SSL certificate and one year of free hosting. It is a genuine, professional online presence at an accessible price point. Get in touch and we can discuss what is achievable within your budget.
Technical
A child theme is a layer that sits on top of the main WordPress theme and holds all customisations separately. When the parent theme receives updates, a child theme means those updates can be applied safely without overwriting any of the design or code changes made to your website. Every website we build uses a child theme as standard, it is one of the most important things you can do to protect a WordPress website long term.
Your domain name is your website address, for example, brightwebsitedesign.co.uk. Hosting is the server where your website files are stored and served from. You need both for a website to work online. We can manage both for you, or work with your existing domain and hosting provider if you prefer.
No. WordPress is designed to be managed by non-technical users, and we build every website with straightforward content management in mind. If you want to update pages, publish blog posts, add images or change text, you will be able to do so without touching any code. We also offer one-to-one WordPress training if you would like hands-on guidance specific to your website.
Yes. Every website we build includes a GDPR-compliant cookie consent banner, a privacy policy page, and Google reCAPTCHA on all contact forms to prevent spam and protect data. We are registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) and take data protection seriously across everything we do.
Every website we build includes an SSL certificate, which encrypts all data between the website and its visitors. For ongoing security, our Website Management Plan covers regular WordPress core updates, theme and plugin updates, security scanning, malware detection, automated backups and the ability to restore your website if anything goes wrong. Keeping software up to date is the single most effective thing you can do to protect a WordPress website.
The most important steps are keeping WordPress, your theme and all plugins updated regularly, using strong unique passwords for your WordPress login and hosting account, and ensuring automated backups are in place so your website can be restored quickly if anything goes wrong. Our Website Management Plan handles all of this for you. We also implement additional security hardening on every website we build, including disabling unnecessary WordPress features that are commonly targeted by attackers.
Website accessibility means building websites that can be used by everyone, including people with visual impairments, hearing difficulties, motor disabilities or cognitive differences. An accessible website works with screen readers, can be navigated by keyboard alone, uses sufficient colour contrast, has descriptive text alternatives for images, and follows a logical heading structure. We build accessibility into every website from the ground up, meeting recognised WCAG guidelines. An accessible website is not only the right thing to do, it also performs better in search engines and is increasingly required under UK and European accessibility legislation.
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimisation. It is the practice of making your website and online content easy for AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and others, to understand, reference and recommend. As more people use AI to find products, services and local businesses, being visible in AI-generated answers is becoming as important as ranking in traditional search results. We implement GEO best practices as part of our website builds, including structured data, schema markup, llms.txt files and content that is accurate, specific and easy for AI systems to verify and cite.
Yes. Local SEO can be built into every website we create. This includes optimising pages for location-specific keywords, ensuring your business name, address and phone number are consistent across the website, implementing local business schema markup, and structuring content to target the geographic areas your business serves. Whether you want to rank in Wilmslow, across Cheshire, in Manchester or nationally, we build the right foundation from the start. We can also advise on your Google Business Profile to support local search visibility.
Yes, all our websites are built to be responsive in design. Every website we create is optimised to provide an exceptional user experience across various devices & screen sizes.

Results & Value
SEO is a long-term strategy. Most businesses begin to see meaningful improvements in rankings and organic traffic within three to six months of a new or redesigned website going live, though this varies depending on your sector, competition and how consistently you publish quality content. The technical SEO foundations we build into every website give you the strongest possible starting point. Ongoing SEO improvements, such as regular blog content, internal linking and building authority, compound over time.
We recommend setting up Google Analytics and Google Search Console so you can track visitor numbers, traffic sources, page performance and how your website appears in search results. We can guide you through setting these up or handle the integration as part of your project. With the right data in place, it is clear to see what is working and where to focus improvements.
Yes. We can advise on setting up and optimising your Google Business Profile, which is an important local SEO signal. A well-optimised profile helps your business appear in Google Maps results and local search listings, particularly for searches like “website designer near me” or “web design Wilmslow.” Get in touch to discuss what support you need.
Yes. If you have an existing WordPress website that needs updating, redesigning or improving, we can help. Whether it is a full redesign, new pages, improved SEO, performance improvements, accessibility updates or security hardening, we offer ad-hoc work or can scope a larger project with a fixed price quote. Get in touch with a description of what you need and we will advise on the best approach.
A few things stand out. Every website is designed and built personally by Bec Lee, you will never be handed to a junior or an account manager. Every bespoke website is built from scratch with no templates. Accessibility, SEO and performance are built in from the start rather than bolted on at the end. Pricing is fully transparent with no hidden costs. And we focus on long-term relationships, many clients have been with Bright Website Design for several years, returning as their businesses grow. We are also ahead of the curve on GEO, helping businesses become visible not just in Google but in AI-generated search results too.
